Committing to Child Survival:
A Promise Renewed

Committing to Child Survival: A Promise Renewed is the initiative that emerged from the Child Survival Call to Action, a high-level forum convened in June 2012 by the Governments of India, Ethiopia, and the United States. Led by UNICEF, A Promise Renewed is a movement to energize efforts to reduce the deaths of children under 5 years old in all countries to 20, or fewer, per 1,000 live births by 2035.

We Know What Works

Child mortality has been reduced by 70 percent over the last 50 years. However, we must double our efforts in order to meet Millennium Development Goal 4 of reducing under-5 mortality by two-thirds. Learn what USAID is doing to accelerate progress.
